Barn House is a self catering
property located in the centre of the Cumbrian village of Braithwaite,
two miles
from the Lake District market
town
of Keswick
on Derwentwater. The property as the name suggests is a converted
barn which has been renovated to a very high standard by current
owners Jenny and Stephen Clark who live nearby.
There
is a large characterful lounge with an open fire and oak beams,
a formal dining area, spacious kitchen and three good sized bedrooms
- two doubles and a twin room - comfortably sleeping from two
to six people.
Braithwaite
is a beautiful, peaceful village overlooked by the Coledale
Horseshoe, an impressive semicircle of Lakeland
fells which is a famous walking route. Braithwaite
has a village shop and two pubs providing home cooked meals and
Cumbrian ales.
The historical town of Keswick is close by which has a wide
selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and galleries.
There is also the famous Theatre by the Lake and the lake itself,
Derwentwater. Derwentwater isn't the only nearby lake - Bassenthwaite
Lake is only 4 miles away and a short (and stunning!) drive through
Newlands Valley and over Newlands Pass takes you Buttermere and
Crummock water.
